Before I continue, I wish to make it clear that I am absolutely not requesting medical advice...
Sorry folks, I come bearing the gift of (yet another) dental-related tale of woe.
Yesterday (Friday), I awoke feeling drowsy and spaced out, but otherwise OK. At some point during the afternoon, I started getting twinges of pain in my left ear, so took a couple of paracetamol. During the evening, I ended up with a reusable cold compress against my ear, as the twinges hadn't eased off. At 10pm, I took my 3rd dose of antibiotics for the day, followed by a couple of Co-codamol tablets an hour later.
By midnight, I was continuing to experience pain in my ear, in addition to sensitivity on the left side of my mouth. This is when I realised that I had made an error with the two previous doses of antibiotics. Instead of taking 1 Erythromycin 250mg tablet and 1 Metronidazole 400mg tablet together, my 2nd and 3rd doses consisted of 2 Metronidazole tablets. Oops!
Between the hours of midnight and 7am this morning, I was back to howling in pain. In addition to the cold compress I was clutching against my ear, I was also clutching a bag of frozen carrots against the front of my mouth.
My fingers are now crossed that I don't make any further blunders with my antibiotics.
