Health Advice On Lump In Stomach

I'm not Dr so have no idea if this points to something serious or not but I'm hoping some health knowledgeable people here can help me out.

Tonight I suddenly noticed this pinkish lump in my belly button.

Picture below.

What would you say is the cause?

It's not painful at the moment, just looks unsightly. No blood or pus. I do occasionally get nauseous and swollen stomach but have been diagnosed with IBS so I'm thinking it's to do with that rather than this lump.

I'm sure the lump wasn't there the 2 days ago.

Do you think it could be cancer related? It runs in my family and I have been very tired and a little dizzy lately.

Your thoughts on this and how serious it might be would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

  • To be honest It looks like either a large spot or a small sebaceous cyst. Both of which can be popped with a sterile needle or pin, which if you want to take it into your own hands is up to you but I'd actually advise not do that, and instead wait a week and if there is no change or deteriation give it another week, and if after the 2nd week it hasn't gone or gets worse then take it to the GP. Ofc if you are really really worried take it to the GP as soon as you like, but do not overly concern yourself thinking it is cancer because if it is as small as it looks compared to the hairs then it probably isn't fast growing anyway so even if it is cancerous it's not likely an immediate threat to your health. I'm not a Dr though, this is just the opinion of a stranger on the internet.
