I love early mornings - do you?

Morning all!

I was very excited to wake up naturally at 5.22am this morning. I love the peace and quiet of an early morning. The birds are also chirping (quite enthusiastically) in the garden.

I always find that by the time I've done a full day at work my energy is depleted so mornings are the blissful free time I have free from any pressures before I have to go about the mandatory aspects of my day.

Today, I've done my usual morning routine and now I think I'm going to do some Japanese studies with a coffee.

I get a little grouchy if I don't get any time to myself in the mornings before work.

Mornings turn out to be a very good indicator of my wellbeing. If I'm not waking up early enough to have me time before work on several occasions, that's general indicator that I'm feeling very stressed.

Does anyone else have a similar love for the mornings?  How do you use yours?

  • As a definite night owl, I’m seldom up with the dawn chorus. I do like winter early mornings in the house, when the dark sympathetically fades as slowly as I wake.

But waking up at 6 or something to find the day already going full blast brightness isn’t my favourite thing. A gentle golden wash of light in early morning spring or autumn can be most beautiful but summer mornings are too much - like someone flicking on a lightswitch and shouting DAY!
