Where do I go now?

Hi everyone,

I will try to keep it as short as I can.

My youngest DS has been a handful from being small. He didn't sit up on his own until he was 9mths old, was a late walker, has speech problems, falls over or bumps his head frequently and is aggressive every day (nipping, hitting, screaming etc), obsessed with computers/computer games, hates birthday parties, loud noises and change if he's not expecting it.

I took him to a birthday party the other day and he was fine in the play area but then when it came to going in the party room he sobbed, ran off and wouldn't join in. After a while when some of the kids finished eating and came out of the room he asked if he could try and go in so I said yes and when we went into the party room he said "i only want to sit where there is something blue". So I let him choose and he sat near a blue cup, lined his plate and cup up and was quite happy.

His teacher said he's just immature when I went to discuss things with her as he also had problems leaving me in a morning to go into school until I allowed him to take a little toy with him in his pocket and it has helped.

I had no luck with school so went down another route and he has been seen by a community paediatrician and she is sending him to see a occupational therapist.

It's going to be a while before we get any more appointments and just wondered what you all think. Should I keep pushing to have him assessed???

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you x
