People Leaving Site.

Just a thought more than anything, I find it quite hard when people leave the site, it’s sort of disturbing, it is as if my routine or expectations have been altered.

I understand that some people only join to get an answer to a specific question, others get to the end of their journey and decide it’s time to move on and some find it’s just not for them. I just find it very unsettling, it’s like my life is being altered without my consent. I obviously don’t blame anyone for leaving. Does anyone else feel this?

  • It's hard to process and get my head round. I worry about them when people are gone and still expect to see their names here, active and having fun like they used to.

    I've seen a lot of names come and go here, I used to talk to and interact with AdeleM, Plastic, Kiki, ConsciousBadger, Remora, Miffo: some vanished pretty much over night, others sadly passed away and some left because of bullying. When people leave it's a big change and change is always hard to cope with.

    There's a member whose name would often appear on the forums after I'd joined last year, and then they suddenly seemed to vanish. I remember them commenting on one of my early posts, which resulted in another member making what I considered to be a few offensive comments in response to them. I've just checked and the member's account hasn't been deleted. The member's username was memorable because it was rather long, and not a word that I would be capable of spelling (it was the name of a particular phobia).

    Did the name start with hippo? Conscious Badger I miss, if anyone had her as a friend, could they check their friends list to see if her account is still there?
