Brightness

I've always struggled with brightness problems. I'm oversensitive to light of all kinds. All the lights in my house are dimming and I can only use my devices for a short time before my eyes feels like there burning. I'm a book fan but sold the kindle because the screen even on the lowest brightness was too bright . . . I remember crying when things were too bright when I was still small and whiney haha but it is more severe now for reasons unknown.

  • Do you have a halogen lamp somewhere? If not, you should be able to get one for an E24 screw (which are still easier to find). Turn everything off and read a paper book under it at night and see how it affects you.

One thing which most austiics and ADHD deal with is a difference in filtering incoming sources of information (light, sound, smell and so on). We don't have the same ability to just dull our senses like Non-Autistics. Some are more sensitive to one thing than another and I believe there's a potential there. Colour blind men have been found to be able to see in the dark better than humans with 3 or 4 cones in their eyes. This would've been useful for a tribe a million years ago and probably even useful today in the right circumstance.
