3 years ago I bought one of those chinese copies of an expensive diesel heater.
When I realised it was effectively a small furnace I decided to see what else it would run on.
1 red diesel . runs great.
2. contents of someones diesell tank after they pt some petrol in it. Ran great, with a jet engine noise to it.
3. kerosine. runs great.
4 vegetable oil / kerosine mix, seemed to run ok for the couple of litres ~I tried.
4 used engine oil / diesel / kerosine mix. seemed to run fine.
4 used engine oil stale petrol mix, ran intermittent at the high heat period during normal startup, scarily popping and banging
5 used engine oil / stale petrol mix, adulterated with diesel. runs stable, but too noisily for my taste "roaring" during high power part of startup, shut down on safety grounds
The waste oil is thick and needs thinning down with something, and kerosine is expensive right now and I have one heater that needs pure kerosine, so I'll need to find something other than petrol to use as a thinner...
