Resources For Autistic People With Cancer?

Hi, does anyone know of any specialist resources for autistic people undergoing cancer treatment (and/or their families)? My spouse is already finding some things really difficult - the uncertainty, the noisy and claustrophobic MRI scan, being poked and prodded by clinicians doing tests, the disruption to working life...

  • Hi Simon, unfortunately there's little to no resources for autistic people who have cancer. I've looked. We definitely need some though. I've had a lot of MRI's and still have them to monitor a tumour and my god is that anxiety inducing! The staff have always been very caring and supportive but the overall experience is awful.

I'm so sorry your wife is having to go through this. It might help to go to the GP and ask them if they can point you in the right direction, mine were unable to help but maybe yours will be better.

    Take care both.
