Anxiety Scratching

My anxiety is especially bad right now I've got a lot of worries about my parents, my health and the future. The anxiety is triggered 24 7 and I'm feeling the nausea, stomach pain, digestion issues and I get hot and headaches all this lasts for hours. But lately I've been scratching my skin, specifically my face and arms but it's taking off the skin, going red and sore. I've seen doctor and have cream but I keep scratching and it's so annoying and sore. It also looks horrible and gross and I'm nervous to go out. My doctor is meant to be getting me therapy but the list is long so I'm kind of on my own for now.

I've been distracting myself with art and music last few days to try and ease my anxiety and it's helped a little but I still scratch. Does anyone else get this?

I'd appreciate any tips you might have.

  • I do word searches, art and reading books.

During the night anxiety is high. Reducing my caffeine intake. Roobios and bedtime tea helps. Valerain root makes me feel groggy. Cuddle a teddy bear.

When go to the shops or events,I take a small teddy bear. ski gloves may help with the scratching. Keep your nails short and put on clear nail polish.

    Hope this helps you.

  • Thank you Rosy this did help. I started doing more reading and bought some word search books, my anxiety has reduced a little.

I'm trying to reduce my caffeine intake but my problem is I only drink coca cola which is about 5-7 cans for me a day. I'm trying but not been successful yet to drink something else.

    Hugs.
