Hello!
Nearly two months ago, I posted a similar question here....sorry to ask again but due to my current circumstances, I couldn't follow up the answers.
I have a 16 and half years old girl whom we strongly suspect is autistic. Every day that suspiction is becoming stronger, in fact, I am sure she is.
Now, our situation is a bit challenging at the moment. We are staying at my sister house in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire. My daughter and I shre the same bedroom...imagine how challenging this is for a young adult with autism is. Hardly any of us have enough sleep. Our health is radpidly deteriorating. In short, I am extremally concern and I do not know what exactly do with our situation.
So, what type of advise I am seeking here?
I need to find a place where my daughter can be diagnose soon!!
I found out that it can take up to 18 months or more to be seen through the NHS!!! I cannot wait this long - a diagnose for my daughter is needed and it has to be in the next two months.
Why the urgency?
There are several urgent situations of why I needed.
Number one is our current situation. We are practically homeless. My sister is providing temporary accommodation but it cannot be forever, of course.
Number two is that my daughter is not resting well and she feels too anxious all the time. She needs her little place and soon.
I did apply for housing help through the South Oxfordshire council but because I have a pending divorce in Portugal (we moved back to the UK from Portugal last May), they have rejected my petition for housing. I am now doing an appeal but without presenting them a diagnose justifiying the urgent need for my daughter to have her own bedroom and space, they wont consider us for housing.
So, does any of you know where in Oxfordshire I can take my daughter for a proper diagnose, that is not too expensive and it will be recognise by the NHS?
What type of help is out there for people who are in a similar situation to mine?
I would HIGHLY appreciate your thoughts and advise.
Many thanks and sorry for my English.
