Social Care neglect advice

I'm 18 and I'm under my local councils 'Transition to Adulthood Team' because of my ASD diagnosis. I also have an Education Health and Care plan under SEND (special educational needs).

I have been placed and left in an accommodation that isn't able to make reasonable adjustments for my needs. I am being called demanding and 'selfish' and 'dramatic' when in reality I am being triggered and reacting in certain ways because of the distress I have been put through for 9 months straight and my basic needs are being ignored and neglected.

I am aware this is indirect discrimination. I think it is also neglect. My local authority argue they have no resources to help me yet when I ask them to look out of city they refuse. They keep pushing to make me live independently when this is not suitable.

As for my education, it has been neglected and no adaptations have been made for me to be able to access any form of education. For years my education has been neglected and I have been pushed and left in situations and facilities that have done nothing but cause me distress. I am aware that Social Care have neglected The Care Act guidance and have not followed the Public Sector Equality Duty.

I am wanting to take this legally and I am in search of an advocate or someone who can help me to summarise my mistreatment and get the best outcome possible. I am also trying to find legal support but so far have no luck.

Any advice please? Any organisations that you would recommend who could help me or give me advice? Any links to documents, websites or talks which I may resonate with so that I can properly document my struggles and my neglect.

I have C-PTSD and in general its hard for me to explain my experiences or feelings, let alone remember them. I have been in a constant 'just go along with it' mode but now I am completely screwed over and the damage is too far gone and just keeps getting worse. I want access to the support I deserve. am entitled to, need and should be receiving.

I am located in Sheffield.

  • Hi Dino

Sorry you’re having issues with receiving support to  enhance your life..

Finding a lawyer will be impossible if it near enough for one or more of the following:

    • Lack of Legal Aid
    • Lawyers are very busy
    • You’re in the care of SS

I could assist you with certain aspects:remotely only

    • Retain more of your DWP benefits
    • Assist you in changing your care assessment
    • Ensure your social worker understands “you” & “your” needs
    • Potentially assist you to gain appropriate education (residential)

Search Pathological Demand Avoidance on this website and have a look at the traits how many do you display / show?

You are very articulate in your writing and explaining your current issues (partially or fully) do well done…
