October 2021 I had 2 falls. The GP and paramedics swore blind the pain was psychological. Despite being in sheer I did my best to do the therapy. My stepdaughter tried for ages to arrange transport so I could be x rayed. On December 3 I was x rayed . The pain wasn't psychological . the top of my femur/hip. I had a partial hip replacement 2 days later. Then was quite ill. Had to be on oxygen.. After a while I went to a physical rehab unit. I made a huge effort with doing the therapy. I was sent home on Jan 4 , despite having caught Covid less than a week before as I'd coped well with the 'practice stairs at the rehab unit. There were people to make sure I could get into my 1st floor flat OK. However although I can now walk without a frame. I've not been outside.at all since Jan
My stepdaughter wants the physio team to make I'm OK going up and downf the stairs. She's said she'll never forgive herself if I was to fall. The physio team are conspicuous by their absence. As well as the falls it was also discovered that I had atrial fibrillation and low vit D. I now take over half a dozen pills a day, including one,a blood thinner, that I need to show a card if needing treatment.
Although walking unaided it's far from easy. The lower back pain is back with a vengeance. That no doubt due to my poor posture. I was told last year, before the falls that I have scoliosis, which apparently has been there since at least my teenage years My youngest niece had to have surgery for her scoliosis.
Thankfully my brain is still working reasonably OK. Those of us of a certain age with sz/sz-a worry about dementia as having those dxes increases the chance of developing dementia.
