Need some advice please

Hi all I am new here, my 3 yr old boy was seen by the speech therapist a couple of times and they have told me he has autisim and they would be sending there report to the specialist, as my little boy is waiting on. What happens next ? Be gratefully if anyone can give me some advice on what to expect

many thanks

  • What happens next is you will be given 'general information' which really doesn't help with your understanding of what your boy really needs.

It may sound cynical but that is what I have found so far.  The best advice I can give is to make it your priority to find out for yourself.  The UK unfortunately only provides official advice from the NHS but other countries have a LOT of studies, and information that we do not get easy access to.

I have started collating information about how other countries treat Autism and it has really helped me.  Understanding the condition is easy, understanding the lifestyle changes needed I believe should be really on a case by case basis and what works for one may not work for another so it is important to really research and find out what works well for your boy.
