morning routine for a working person

Hi

I fell out of a really good routine by not going to the gym anymore. Looking to get back into the swing of things.

Curious how other working people start their mornings and what they do through out the day to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Or if anyone has recommendations for me. I work 9-6 Monday-Friday

  • I wake up around 6am, brush my teeth, do a basic workout, eat food, get dressed, and then I go to work. I rarely drink coffee unless I'm dead tired, because if I drink too much I'll get migraines, so I use it sparingly.

I've never been to the gym before, but I'll do some stretches and a basic workout like pushups and weights. It's a low intensity workout, because I'll be running around at work so I'll burn off a lot of energy there, but if it's an office job then I think that having a higher intensity workout would be better, because you'll be sitting at a desk throughout the day and won't have much exercise otherwise.

I don't really eat sugary stuff in the morning, because it makes me really hungry before lunch (glucose from sugar causes insulin levels to spike, which causes the hunger), so I just eat something with protein in it before work, like eggs, meat, potatoes, sometimes leafy greens.

Then I get to work early so that I can relax before work starts, because it's not fun to rush to work and fearing that I'll be late. I mean if I do that every day, it'll just program my brain to fear going to work. So if I am used to being relaxed before work, on the rare occasions that I am actually late, I'm still calm before work.
