Veganism

  1. Are they any vegans out there?
  2. Would you consider veganism if you are not a vegan already?

I have found veganism to be really fun and interesting and a great way to keep healthy as long as I keep taking my B12.

I also like to walk and use my bike instead of the car.  I find that once i have tried something, it is easier to do the next time.

What do you like to do in order to keep fit and of healthy wait?

  • Hi Tony,

The last couple of years i've been eating more and more veges, but i do love a bacon butty.  A lot of veges i can't eat, or only in limited amounts. I've been diagnosed with CKD 3b, so have to  be careful with my diet. I like cooking, i bake my own bread, well in the breadmaker.  But in much of my cooking recipies started with tomatoes, they were the base of everything, but not now, i have to limit my protein I've a long long list of the things i can't have. When the hospital first told me, i asked ..... Well what can i have ? The nurse told me ...... white rice and cabbage  !!! It's not quite that bad but some days it feels like it. I love cheese, i could nibble it all day..... but dairy is out. I make my own oat milk to go on my cereal each morning.

  • How would you feel about trying some fake bacon? I like Without The Oink and This Is Not Bacon. I like baking too.  I made soda bread this morning and Old English Sultana Bread last week.

    The soda bread. Yum!

The Old English Sultana Bread.  Double yum!

  • The Old English Sultana Bread that never uploaded the first time.

  • I will have to look up CKD 3b since i don't know anything about it except what you have just told me.

  •  i make carrot bread, but sultana bread, that's on the don't touch list All dried fruit is full of protein, and i use to use loads of it, not just on my cereal but when making curry in the slowcooker. Things i thought were healthy and good for me, like nuts & raisins , tofu. I have to limit CKD 3b isn't to much to worry about, but if don't change my diet now and next year find i'm CKD 4, that's the time to start worrying. I'm tring to drink lots more water.
