Could be taking very cold shower after infrared sauna health risky

Hi

I read that it is good for your body to take cold shower after infrared sauna. But I remember when I was young they always said that you should not drink very cold beverage if you are hot, you should also not stay wet and hot in cold place immediately after you stopped exercising. So now I am little confused why taking cold shower after infrared sauna is not health risky?

  • Based on my empirical studies, the skin cools down very fast after sauna anyway so I don’t think there’s a massive difference if you shower with say 40F or 80F water after.

The comment of skin pores closing is probably true though. Everyone has his or her own favorite. Mine is: ice plunge, sauna, ice plunge, cooling down outside, sauna, ice plunge… …repeat… …sauna, ice plunge, cooling down outside, quick rinse, clothes on, pass out.

Cooling down in the outside is important to me because I will keep sweating even after shower otherwise.

  • Cooling down in the outside is important to me because I will keep sweating

after 15min of any kind of exertion and continue to do so until out of sweat, believe me, it's possible to run out of sweat even when drinking hectoliters of liquids

though I stay outside only until begun cooling down, and if sweating I try not to expose throat area
