Is there an alternative for people who can’t tolerate the swab. My daughter WILL NOT swab!

There are some that only need to be done only in the nose and not the throat - would that be better?
For a while weren't they doing a swab up the nose as well, or have I got that wrong? I can't remember now. I can understand her anxiety with this. I hated the swab it made me vomit every time. I think you should speak to the GP he or she will be able to tell you what can be done for her. Hopefully there is an alternative.

I'm not working in the medical domain, and I don't think what the alternatives are. However, I am sure there must be an alternative. Usually, I contact the primary care in texas and see what they can suggest to me. Surprisingly, they have solutions for every problem. I think you can contact any health care institution around your area because there must be people with the same problems as your daughter. Also, if you don't want to lose a lot of time, you can call them or contact them online on different platforms.
If nothing is available, then she just won't be able to do tests. But as an aside, she will also no longer be able to do certain things that require tests. You don't mention her level of functionality. Does she understand why people are asked to do tests and that not doing them may means she isn't able to do certain activities anymore? If she understands that I wouldn't push it.
In a month or so this will be moot and no one will need to do them anyway, so I probably wouldn't worry too much.
Try talking to your GP. The lateral flow swab tests are the quick cheap option suitable for most people, but I understand that NHS staff are now being tested regularly with a 'spit in a tube' type test. I may have that wrong, but in view of her difficulty the GP might point you to an alternative.
Thanks. No, either is an absolute no no. She’s 15 and could potentially be very dangerous if I did it without consent. I’ve emailed test and trace to ask. I do think there should be an alternative x
AFAIK, no. Is she unable to do one or the other. I think if you can hit the tonsils, you can probably test without doing the nose, although I tend to do it the other way and just shove it up a nostril, twist and test. I really hate doing it, but I have no choice for a number of reasons related to health.
