hi all, i have a lovely 3 year old boy who has been diagnosed with ASD iv always known there was something different about him and thought it could be autism which was confirmed today!! (only took 2 years)lol, just thought id see if anyone is in the same boats as us, due to we wasnt giving what level on the spectrum today he is??

  • hi, thanks for the reply its nice to get someone elses input on things, sorry to hear its took you 30 years thats a very long time, iv been lucky enough to be heard so to speak, yea they said due to his age and with alot of other issues he has they dont want to put him in one corner, which i hope is a benefit for him.

    Good on you for ploughing on with the diagnosis. Its not easy.

    In my case, it took 30 years to get anyone to even consider autism and in the early days I was told that I was causing my sons differences and difficulties.

    Im sure that you will find lots of people here who have gone through the same issues with diagnosis; Im no expert but I suppose that it is difficult (at 3 years old) to say how autism will affect your son in the long term; 3 year olds are going through lots of changes and some behaviours etc are just part of growing up.
