i have a question about sleep

Hi

Ever since last year i have never been able to successfully wake up on time and on my own except for a handful of moments. over the year I have tried taking small doses of melatonin (because i was new to taking supplements like melatonin) and it helped put me to sleep, but it made it even harder for me to wake up. and eventually my parents began to look down on me for taking supplements in fear that I would become addicted i also tried going to bed earlier, but this is a rare occasion because as a student athlete I had a very busy lifestyle and schedule. and even during this quarantine when sleep should not be something that is limited, I sometimes find myself sleeping through online classes because I couldn’t hear my alarm. which in return enraged my parents. please help I don’t know what to do anymore,

any suggestions and tips would be much appreciated

  • Have you ever tried CBTI? It's a wide topic, with plenty of advice, some of which could work for you. If you can't hear your alarm, chances are you're sleep deprived and you're falling asleep too late/don't get enough quality sleep.

Another thing you could try, if you have a fitbit or smart watch and you can wear it while you sleep, is set an alarm on the watch. It'll vibrate instead of ringing. That definitely wakes me up. But still, try CBTI :-)
