Struggling

Hi I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New year Slight smile

I'm struggling at the moment

School has started again and I'm really struggling with it

The lessons are really hard and everyone's horrible to me because of the autism they call me a retard and laugh at me because I'm ugly.

I have school again tomorrow, which sucks but I guess I've got to go.

Does anyone here have any coping strategies which will help me deal with the bullies and hard lessons? If you do that would be great Slight smile

  • Hi Salky. Firstly, even though I don't know what you look like, I don't believe you're ugly. In terms of a person's general appearance, I don't think there's any such thing.

When you say the lessons are hard, consider the possibility that it's to do with your learning style, rather than your intelligence. I found it very difficult to learn at school because I didn't like the way I was taught. If you've not already, try to think about how you learn when you're by yourself. For example, do you like reading, watching videos, talking through problems, etc. It may be that you have to ask to be taught in a different way, at which point, things will become much easier.

Regards the bullies, the way I think about it is that I don't care about the opinions of people I don't respect. I appreciate that's an easy thing to say, however.

Good luck with everything. Give us an update about how you're getting on, or if you have any other questions.
