We Are 1 In 100 People - please read :

Many people spend time dwelling on the fact they are Autistic. Personally, there is nothing to be ashamed about, people are not realising that there is usually in fact 60% postive effects of Autism like the incredible paths in your mind and creativity knowone else has. We would be living with no purpose if we were all exactly the same. Although some people suffer the affects of Autism stronger, usually, we and others have to adapt to situations to improve them [that can take time]. You can't grow out of it or free it from your mind because not having it would slowly weaken your mind and distinguish the kindness, understanding and unique personality of the present.

I hate it when people say it's all such a negative, unpleasant thing to live with, it just makes everyone else suddenly feel worthless - but we are far from it !!! Millions of people don't understand us which makes things quite hard at times in our own minds but, the more people start to engage into our world.

Overall, don't always and forever think of yourself having a spell cast over you, just try to think about in what ways you may be a little different or quirky and find the good in them. All of us could be the Priminister if we wanted to !

It's not like we have a terrible disease within our flesh, that is far from the truth ! Don't ever live your life in shame because of what others may say or perceive us as because those who in fact say we have a gift are extremely correct.

  • Well said but the key word is Spectrum and it is worth remembering that some have more positives than negatives others more negatives than positives.  If you can mitigate the negatives where possible I think most people with ASD can have a happy, productive life but sometimes it can be hard or impossible to remove those negatives.

ASD is definitely a way of thinking and living and most certainly is NOT a disability, though It can have (at times) disabling aspects.  You are right that we should all remember the positives as much as we can.

  • Your very right, I didn't really think about that, I just think that it's not all negative for everyone and that it shouldn't disable you, just possibly restrict you at times. I definetly know how servere it can be for others and I understand that it can be pretty dark for people but I just want people to be a little more postive [as much as they can be] in reguards to this subject.
