Toilets and bathrooms obsession

Hello. Does anyone else's child love the bathroom and toilets? My son has always liked it since he was a baby. Then he had a year where he would not step into a public rest room as he was scarred of the hand driers. He then got over that fear and his love of public bathrooms has multiplied. He wants to go anywhere and everywhere. Often we take him somewhere "fun" but he plays there for 10 minutes then spends the rest of the time going in and out of the bathroom. I don't mind him going but I would like to reduce this so he can get pm with other stuff. Problem is bathrooms are everywhere so can't escape. Any tips?

  • My son was scared (when he was little) of the hand driers in public toilets too - absolutely terrified. It was very difficult!  I think my son gets lost in his thoughts during lots of daily activities - including when he’s in the bathroom. A lot of patience is required as he needs time  and I’ve learnt to try to always give him the time he wants and needs whenever possible. He has his own pace.
