Autistic partner overwhelm

Hello

My autistic partner has become overwhelmed recently after being well for 3 months. 

He is rude and disrepectful to me when his overwhelm level is high.

I find this difficult to cope with, and tonight have left our home to give him space and keep myself safe.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

  • Hi, I'm so pleased to see this post. (Not pleased of your sadness) my partner is pre diagnosis and I'm really struggling also as is he. 

    This is all new to us and often I can find myself feeling very lonely. Which is so difficult because he is frustrated. 

    Today I've tried seeking help for partners in a autistic relationship and had no joy! There is so much help for parents and siblings but not partners.
