Hi Friends - just a quick update about my health.
I saw the oncologist on Monday and we went through the PET and CT scans. He says things haven't spread to my lungs or liver which gives me a good chance the chemo will slow things down. He says that apart from dying of cancer, I'm remarkably fit. I start 2 types of chemo in parallel as soon as they can organise it - probably next week. .
He says if everything goes well, he hopes he can get me 18 months to 2 years. There's also a radical operation that can be performed after that if I'm still doing well - it's highly risky but he thinks I have a 50/50 chance of making 5 years. Need to think about that nearer the time - there's quality of life considerations. Living does not always equate to being alive.
Obviously, there's a lot if risk and chance of failure from now onwards so nothing is guaranteed - it still might end up as just months only - but I will fight for every minute I can get.
I'm still actively ticking off my bucket list - we had a family photo session yesterday (while I still look good) and we're feeding and walking with a wild wolf pack today.
Looks like Boris has cancelled my helicopter flight on Thursday..
Lockdown or not, I'll still visit my friends for my sanity - they are my vital support network - or I'll just claim I'm a tradesman working in their house while I'm there - I'll take my hammer with me!
