Fireworks.

Does anyone else loathe the sounds of fireworks? This is the time of year that I get quite anxious and depressed about the upcoming explosions that last well beyond the supposed 5th of November event. I have to resort to wearing hear defenders with a plug that allows me to listen to the TV with a background sound effect going on.

  • I'm OK, but I know people with PTSD who definitely aren't.  I am worried that with no large public displays this year, more people are going to have 'private' displays in their gardens, over a longer period of time...

    I'm worried about pets too.  One of the cats we had was terrified of them and used to seek out the sturdiest part of the house to hide in.  We think she must have been bombed in a former life.

    Anyone else remember that - pre millenium - there wasn't really fireworks at New Years either.  Now I get rudely awakened just past midnight with the din!
