ON THE TOILET AGAIN !

Doctors say I have IBS,, I disagree, it is a stress reaction to social difficults when I believe that control is getting taken away from me. This is not on a conscious level, it just happens on interaction with other people, who are moving faster than me. I feel, I am getting pushed. The mere tones of there voices, there faces give me shock, I can not focus, I am off balance and then the toilet run starts,, 5 shits in a 2 hour space, my body exhausted, my face drained of blood. This is not IBS,, this is a stress reaction to social stimulas, this is a control issue, a fear of loss of control and a perceived loss of control being taken from me. I think ? Any thoughts ?

  • Hi Hohner!

I've been diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome and I used to suffer from similar symptoms and it was horrible so i know how you feel. It used to be so bad that i would refuse to leave the house because everywhere and anywhere i went i would be anxious about needing to go to the toilet, then the anxiety from that caused more anxiety and my thoughts would just sprial out of control about the smallest things. Eventually it started to occur less and less because i think i just pushed myself to do things. I had a trick i got taught in the army on focusing that really helped. Use your senses to gain focus and essentially take your mind off the stress, do this by making a mental note of what you can physically see, then what you can physically hear, then what you can physically touch. This focuses the brain and for me, eased the symptoms of stress. Try it out and good luck!
