ON THE TOILET AGAIN !

Doctors say I have IBS,, I disagree, it is a stress reaction to social difficults when I believe that control is getting taken away from me. This is not on a conscious level, it just happens on interaction with other people, who are moving faster than me. I feel, I am getting pushed. The mere tones of there voices, there faces give me shock, I can not focus, I am off balance and then the toilet run starts,, 5 shits in a 2 hour space, my body exhausted, my face drained of blood. This is not IBS,, this is a stress reaction to social stimulas, this is a control issue, a fear of loss of control and a perceived loss of control being taken from me. I think ? Any thoughts ?

  • hi hohner - I don't know how much research you've done into this. It's interesting to research how much emotions can affect the digestive system (or parts of it).  To be totally unscientific I read that there are lots of nerves between the digestive system + the brain.  This may be why some people feel sick with fear, have a build up of bile in their stomach, have to rush to the toilet if they are in a situation which is difficult in some way.  I've also read many times that IBS is definitely linked to stress.  IBS affects lots of people, whether on the spectrum or not.
