Bright Lights

Hi Everyone, I have always struggled with sensory overload but just recently my sensitivity to light has got worse. I really don’t know why but at the moment its a challenge to even go in the garden on a sunny day like today, walk my dog or even sit in my conservatory.

Even though we have got blinds in the conservatory that filters the light it still eventually gives me a headache and then can end up being a migraine. It hurts the back of my eyes. I put sunglasses on which normally helps but I don’t want to end up sitting in a dark room all the time. I’m feeling like a gremlin. Does anyone else struggle with light and if so have you found anything that works apart from sitting in the dark. I would be grateful for any suggestions.

  • If you feel like a gremlin it’s best to avoid food after midnight! On a serious note you can get tinted glasses - so not as full on as sun glasses but with a tint to dial down the light. Even if you don’t normally wear glasses, they are available with plain lenses which aren’t corrective.
