My brother is 13, he doesn’t speak and is still in nappies. He’s getting pretty big so it’s getting really difficult to change him. There hasn’t been much help from his school in that regard and I want to use this time to assist my mum in trying to get him out of nappies once and for all. If anybody has any experience or advice on how to go forward I would really really appreciate it.
Hello NAS66597, it's a great idea to use this time to help your mother to get your brother out of nappies. We have a page on our website regarding toilet training: https://www.autism.org.uk/about/health/toilet-training.aspx I hope that you find this helpful. All the best, Karin Mod
My son also was in nappies until 12 I can remember thinking he will never be toilet trained but we did know it was important and perseverance and patience with him it happened one of the biggest achievements for all of us as made life easier for the family and my son
