We had an appointment with the doctor and she said that Adam is going to be referred and she was leaning towards high functioning autism, off we went happy that we have support and she didn't think Adam was just a naughty boy.
then we get a letter from the speech and language department saying they are closing the case as they don't feel Adam meets the requirements, I rang them up and they said to fill out the forms (one for school) and they will reopen the case.
as we are new to this, we are confused has the whole thing been thrown out and Adam isn't going to be tested at all, or is it just for his speech etc, I asked the lady on the phone and she said 'it would just mean there wouldn't be a language theripst there at the appointment but on the forms it was asking about communication, behaviours etc (things that do not come under speech)
we were settled knowing we had to wait but there was light at the end, and now we feel so confused.
can anyone shed some light on the whole process?
