Diet and ASD

Was wondering does anyone have any take on the role diet plays with ASD?  I was recently diagnosed and think I have a balanced diet with plenty of fruit and veg but was curious to know if diet does have a general effect on autism or not

  • Hi everyone

I am new to the forum, so bare with me.

I Used to weigh 15 Stone, I joined Slimming World and lost 5 stone.

The problem I am having is keeping the weight off.

Sometimes my brain tells me that I am hungry but my stomach isn't.

  • Hi - welcome to the group. I used to worry about my weight a lot, and I got a bit obsessive about logging food, tracking calorie intake etc. These days, I find it easier to just eat a balanced, varied diet and focus on how fit/healthy I'm feeling, rather than looking at numbers on a scale.

For me, feeling fit and healthy is the main thing Slight smile
