I told someone who I have on my Facebook that I was lonely when I was feeling down. They said 'you can always talk to me : and I don't know of anyone who hates you - you're such a lovely person.'
Is this something you would say to a friend?
Also, what do they/people think of me to say that I am 'such a lovely person'. Is this a nice thing to say to someone? How often would you say this to someone, and who would you say it to?
I'd say their just trying to make you feel better. Without knowing you or them I cant say if your friends. I have someone I know I'm not sure if we are friends or not. She was crying the other day as someone died and I felt I had to hug her but it felt awkward and I was thinking is this okay, how long do I hug for, this is so weird lol
Maybe chatting with people on here can help you to not feel so lonely?
It’s difficult for me to say as I don’t know either you or this person. If you still see them socially outside of Facebook then I would like to think that they consider you to be a friend.
I miss speaking to friends and am lonely. :(
It was online, but I have met up with them before quite a few times outside of Facebook. We went to the same school.
Did they say it to you online or in person. Is it someone who you meet up with socially outside of Facebook?
They also said 'there are lots of people who care about you and want you to be okay'.
Thank you very much for your responses. Do you think that this person considers me as one of their friends?
Perhaps a bit awkward way of saying a nice thing. They were nervous. It is a terrifying subject for NT probably :
Hi, yes this is something you would say to a friend, to try to make them feel better if like you were, they are saying that they feel lonely and down. Yes it is a nice thing to say.
