Hi there,
I think I probably have an ASD. I have been considering approaching my GP to seek a refferal to someone who could assess me for a while now. Infact I've posted here recently - a thread in this section.
I think, if I was diagnosed, it would help answer the whys, and hopefully help me get more suitable support for my depression and anxiety too. I think, had I been diagnosed when I was younger - it would have helped a lot at school.
However, I've read many things stating that there isnt much knowledge of ASD's in adults for diagnosis. So this leaves me wondering, if I did actually get a diagnosis - would there be suitable support out there anyway?
So what would you say the benefits of getting a diagnosis were? particularly as an adult.
I want to seek an assessment to find out one way or another, but part of me wonders if it would be of much benefit.
