constipation and tummy massage

HI my daughter aged 10 has been suffering for constipation for years and I know it can be a trate or something that is related to her autism. But after try everything we always seems to be going back to square one. She eats well. I herd that u can do some sort of tummy massage to help. Has anyone tried it?? Does it work and how can I found out where to start learning how to do it as medication is ginving me a headache lol. Any suggetsions welcome.

  • Hi Izzy

Tummy massage always helps produce a result for our little boy (he's 4). He also has a maintenance dose of Movicol Paediatric (taken as a drink) daily.

Aswell as this we have put him on a gluten free diet which has got rid of his bloating and improved concentration etc.

Jack had a stomach scan last year to confirm that it was, indeed, constipation and nothing else. We also consulted a dietician just to make sure we were doing okay - and we are - since his gluten free diet began - about a year ago - his appetite has soared!!

We still massage his tum though - I think he finds it comforting too.
