DEBATE HELD ON AUTISM DIAGNOSIS.

Hi all just wondered if anyone here was aware of the debate held in Westminster hall.

It was held on Wednesday 13th 2017 at 09:30 and finished at 10:58.

I contacted my local mp after seeing a NAS banner on Facebook. It was asking for people to lobby thier mp for a debate to be heard.

It worked as mp Bambos Charalambos (Enfield,Southgate, labour) was granted permission for the debate to be heard.

It was nice to see cross party support for a set period of waiting time to be made mandatory between referral to diagnosis start time.

I was sent a copy of the transcript by my mp who could not attend.

13 pages.it took some reading and I admit I am not the best with remembering facts,To tell you I would have to physically write it all down.

I imagine it is available to all? Hopefully some one post a link or something as I do believe it highlite the lack of anything being done since the autism act in 2009 which promised to deliver various help and support to the young and adults.

It went on as each mp stood and gave evidence of thier own constituents who had suffered appalling waiting times the most being four years for one women.

It also said something along the lines(memory) that the NHS was negligent in not keeping records of waiting times and that needed to be rectified emmediately. It also had comment that some areas seem to be deliberately stalling and not giving correct support to those in need. Apparently the original act said autistic diagnostic assessment should start within 3 months.

I apologise for anything I have written that is incorrect but it took me a very long time just writing down these few memory joggers.

No actual decision was reached but progress nonetheless less.

please could somebody post a link to it for me?

I was hoping that the NAS admin would post it on this forum as not everyone searches the main page. It is very important to me and I imagine most on here, not really good enough since my email was received 8 September.I got fed up waiting for them.

many thanks and to those who do have a hug.
