Adult autism diagnosis

i have found out today that my request for funding for asd assessment has been accepted and I will receive an appointment shortly. My question is what will happen at this assessment? I really don't like meeting strangers so if i have a rough idea of what to expect it will help.

many thanks

No I don't either so know what you mean. You should be able to take someone with you. I personally felt that more information about the process ( like you are asking) and about the people doing the assessment before I went would have helped . For a place doing assessments it didn't seem autism friendly by not offering this information in the appointment letter.

More questionnaires. Talking with either/both psychologist/psychiatrist/occupational therapist  A few 1-1 tests which check for things like imagination ( being shown pictures for example  and talking about them)  or processing speed ( puzzles (using pegs and blocks to achieve the design you are looking at) and things with numbers, letters, words, colour). Sorry to be vague but a blur now.

Second time around I didn't do any of that ; the Dr read all the reports from the previous assessment above looked in detail at all the different health, education, employment histories I had sent beforehand and just talked with me;Much more relaxed!
