Been good to hear from any adult ASD diagnosed women in this forum... or does anyone know any good sites for ASD women?
Hello out there......anyone????

Hello out there......anyone????
I'm going for the top 'reply' button this time in the hope that this interjection won't disappear in the thread like the last one did. I have a new book and I think it is important people!
AUTISM AND ASPERGER SYNDROME IN ADULTS by Dr Luke Beardon. I bought it because it was published this year, so many of the books seem to be outdated to me, this seemed to have a fresh perspective, it arrived today and I've read nearly a third, it's quietly brilliant I think.
If we could all read it and encourage everyone else to read it we might start a revolution, it's really genderless too, in a good way. I may just be over excited by this thread being such a roaring success, but I really think the ideas in this book could help us all so much.
Isn't it strange that a thread full of pain, confusion and despair can be generating so much optimism, thank you for being brave enough to start it Elephant, even if it has got quite hard to follow! If all my emotions and reactions weren't so suppressed I might be skipping round the garden right now.
I'm so sorry for those of you with resistant husbands or partners, I hope you make progress and I think the book could help them too, maybe there's an audio version, or you could read it to him? He's going to have to engage with the idea if you are going to move forward together, it isn't something that will go away and we have all hit the wall for a reason. We can't keep up the pretence any more, either we find new paths forward or we will be broken people which will serve no one and be a waste of what are obviously some splendid people here, different but splendid.
Spotty!! Wondered where you disappeared to....the book sounds good (pay day Monday!.....it's now on the list!).
it's has been great to have so many join in with this thread...so many hidden women coming out of the woodwork..or book!
try and skip Spotty....or what ever feels right for a tortoise! Did you see the comments above about addressing the emotional side of things....how do you interpret that....or Dr Beardon...?
glad you're back!
I didn't go away! If you go to just above oktanol's post and keep hitting 'load more' that's where my last effort is buried, I find the reply buttons all over the place very confusing but I guess we'll get the hang of it eventually. The thread is a victim of it's own success. Honestly the book is a breath of fresh air and talks in terms that we are.
I'm mulling over the emotional aspect and will be back to that, head still spinning but slightly skipping.
We are doing ok...shout out to the other ASDs out there...
things are a struggle, people, life etc...but we're hanging in there, I hope
Not in the slightest ;-)
If we can't do some spouting and off topic here, where can we? You've been insightful and interesting. It's my first time posting too and I think we are doing ok!
Totally makes sense the UK perspective and culture is very different from America...there are synergies there but not always enough to identify with
