  • I understand how you feel, that is not something I can say very often but I have lived my entire life wishing for it to end because then life would not hurt anymore.

The only thing I can say is that whilst our condition is life long it can become manageable in time. I have very bad days and I really struggle with my relationships, I have been married three times and frankly I am very bad at it.

Oddly enough my diagnosis has given me hope, yes life is still a constant struggle but I am at last getting the help I need.

If  you need to talk more I am around anytime.

  • Hi Major,

I'm sorry your feeling like taking your own life. It must be very difficult for you to feel that your life doesn't have direction or something in the future that you can look forward to.

You say people have told you not to talk like this, if you don't mind me asking, who have you told about how you are feeling? It may be that those people haven't been as good as others may be in addressing how things are for you right now.

One thing about life is that it's not possible to see what may happen in the future, indeed sometimes it's worth setting an aim in order to give things focus in difficult times.

It might be helpful to discuss the situation you're with some people who may be able to listen without simply suggesting you shouldn't talk in a certain way.

In addition to talking to people who may be close to you - friends or family or others who could help; the Samaritans can be very helpful. They can provide a space to discuss anything that is with you.

You can find out how to get in touch on their website -

Supportline is another great resource that you may want to look at -

You may also want to look at some of the advice for people on TheSite.org around feeling suicidal. This includes a lot more advice and services that may be able to help and is a good starting point if you'd like to address how you're feeling.

I hope you'll consider getting in touch with some of these services, difficult as life feels right now there are people who able to support you right now.
