Help with finances

I need help with managing my money. I talked to my care worker but he isnty taking it seriusly in my opinion so i am looking to someone else. I know there are charities/companies that will help you with your money as in managing it for oyu and giving you what you have to spend after all bills and such are paid. effectivly taking control for you so that you are not stressing out over it and spending what you dont have to freely spend. i always do this i cant deal with it and it makes me have panic attacks like now. i was ment to go to my bank so set up a basic account today help but i cant go outside! i jsut cant deal with it. its worse then it appears to people as i was  not diagnosed or given help as a child due to my mother not bleiving in mental disabilities and acting like nothing is wrong. my dad couldnt do anything for me even though he knew i was a my mother is to controlling. someone please help me i jsut cant anymore. I need this help desperatly. i know i might be rambaling but this is part of the uissue for me. I jsut cant deal with it . i need to not have acess to the money that is needed for paying bills and have at least something to save each time i get paid. please help!!!!!!

  • Hi Ren,

I struggle with finances and don't keep up with them.

What are you frightened of ?

Only asking as to find a solution for you which will be easiest to avoid your fears

    Random

  • Alot of people do those regular direct debit instalments via their bank to pay their bills - might that possibly work for you?

  • I'm not sure how computer able you are (Obviously, as i don't know you) I'm not really very good but my husband is. He has set-up a spread sheet for me on my computer. I hope you understand this explanation. Every month he enters my wages in column A then in other columns he enters my standing orders for that month and takes them off column A. He then estimates the fuel bill I will need for that month, and the food bill for that month and enters those in 2 more columns taking the amounts off column A.

what is left in column A is then my free spending money

This works really well for me because I know that as long as I update my computer every day taking amounts I've spent off the correct columns, I will always have enough for my bills, fuel etc. So he does the maths for me each month, and I can then be responsible for managing it throughout the months. Having set columns with set amounts is a great visual reminder of exactly how much I have available to spend, and I can clearly see if column A becomes low and then spend less.

Do you know anyone who may be able to set  something like this up for you?

Otherwise, I know you have already said that you are aware of organisations that can help but CAP money can be quite helpful. it stands for 'Chrstians Against Poverty' but it is there specifically to help people who strugle managing their own finances.

    hope this helps a bit.

  • Do you get paid straight into your bank account?
