Eating Breakfast Alone

Hi, just wondering if anyone can relate to this.

One of my stranger habits, I think, is that, every morning, I have to eat breakfast alone. I live with my parents, and, although I can eat other meals with them with no problem, I find that I will actually vary the time I have breakfast, sometimes leaving it as late as 11am, just so I can pick a time in the kitchen when I will be alone.

Can anyone else relate to this, because it seems a really weird habit to have picked up, and yet I find I cannot help doing it.

Also, I have noticed that I have become increasingly dependent on routines, getting up the same time every day, going to bed at the same time, staying up in my room for a set time, etc. and I'm wondering if my breakfast habit is part of that.

Many thanks for your posts.

  • Thank you for your post MattBucks. I don't particularly enjoy eating breakfast, either, so perhaps that is why it's not a social meal for me, too. I eat it for health reasons, but, if I didn't have to I probably wouldn't eat breakfast at all. I could happily eat all my meals alone, but I do understand the need for family time, and dinner is a much more sociable meal for me, even if it is just talking about what's on TV at the time.
