Intelligent people have fewer friends

A you tube video has just been posted talking about how intelligent people have fewer friends

It's interesting that the theory why they have fewer friends is that there are less of them, so it's harder for them to find others who share their interests.

Perhaps this is a better reason why we Aspies have few friends, than the usual "socially awkward" explanation?

I don't think that there is a single answer that applies to all people with ASD. Some people with ASD have few friends and are happy with that situation. Other people are desperately unhappy because thay have too few friends. The happy ones are probably more interested in intellectual pursuits that can engage them for long periods without social interaction. The unhappy ones are desperately lonely and unable to work out how to break out of their bubbles. We all have the same issues about being socially inept but others of our traits result in different lives for each of us.
