Stimming

(Please note that I am extremely forgetful of late and my short term memory is very poor.  Therefore, I might have already made a similar posting to this one.  Please accept my apologies for duplication.)

In terms of stimming, the following appears to be my forms of stimming (some may be a bit hard to explain without witnessing me doing it)...

Putting my left hand on my forehead, when trying to remember something or concentrating, or when under pressure.

Rocking my head forward and back slowly, as if I am head-banging at an AC/DC concert (I done that as well!)

Twisting my head and neck in a kind of circular or figure of eight motion (left/right/right/left)

Rocking back and forth.

Talking my thoughts; not so much talking to myself, but telling and reminding myself what to do, for example "Oh yeah, I need to unjam the photocopier!" Rather than thinking the sentence in my head, I say it, which sounds like I am talking to myself.

Picking my nose (disgusting, I know!  Is this stimming?)

...May I please ask others how you stim?  (For want of a better expression!)  I am curious as to how other people with ASD stim.

  •  when i begin to stim i find that i also get a a strange sensation in my ears almost like they are tightening up, i  then  hold my head side ways ( normally always specifically to the left )  and rub my middle nuckle on my left hand along the lower part of my right arm, whilst doing this i also rock slightly back and forward. But when i stim there seems to be no variation it is always the same, also whilst this happens it is impossible for me to talk coherently or make sense when i am speeking and i cannot keep eye contact at all.

for me it would be interesting to know how you stop stimming since once i start i cannot stop it and i never know how long they will last for. if you have any answers to this please reply...
