The NAS Leaflets need to stress that Autistic people are more likely to be taken advantage of the general population.   The NAS Leaflets I think really describe a difficult personality not Autism saying that Autistic people carry on too much about a subject.

A plumber it is true did a lot of work for me but he asked for loans. If I had got a company I do not know if it would have cost me more as he worked many days for me at a Hundred Pounds but later on told me stories why he needed more money.

He will never be able to work it off as he has a liver infection and wont be able to work any more.  An NT probably would have told him to get lost earlier.  I went to his flat and he told me stories that my flat keys were thrown away with the stuff in the garage.  In the end we found them in the flat and his wife took the keys off the ring they were on.  I could only get the keys back by being very assertive.  His wife also shouted at my ex plumber.  He had the keys as he used to come frequently to my flat to do jobs.  Above is just one example.

  • I do not want any advice I am going to leave my ex plumber alone who has a liver infection and probably wont live much longer.  I wrote this as I want the NAS Leaflets to stress the vulnerability Autistic people have.  The present NAS Leaflets more descibe a personality problem not Autism.  It is true that many Autistic people have a difficult personality but you can have a difficult personality without being Autistic.  There is a word for it which I will look up later.  It is true that mind blindness can sometimes cause Autistic people to be over persistant but the public will just think Autistic people should behave themselves.  What needs to be stressed is that Autistic people are Vulnerable as they might not be good at making judgements about people.  Again one can be vulnerable without being Autistic.  I think Autistica are doing a good campaign when they say that proportionately nine times as many Autistic people commit suicide.
