How does this work please in English..... :-)
I met with a DWP person yesterday with a programme I am on. I had discovered Hoyalnds House near where I live, a community home for people with autism. The run a shop selling the products they have made. I am guessing the proceeds go back into their 'home'.
I met with this person yesterday and talked about social enterpise and how this Hoylands House is there and she looked it up and after some considerable time in my opininion emailed the contact link with that I am interested in volunteering in the garden. Hmm how does one get from trying to discuss whether or not I can tap into the 'shop' if they will help me with photography somewhere along the line to volunteering in the garden I do not know. Admittedly I just shrugged when she mentioned the gardening part because I really didn't know how she got from trying to work out how I can get the link to photography to gardening. Lost.
But how can i rescue this so i don't go down the wrong line and get into things am not really wanting to do and not offending her efforts of trying to help and very much getting it wrong this time. She herself possibly didn't know about social enterprise. I think she just clutched at something she did know rather than go away and do her job. I waited to discuss it with her rather than ring up myself to Hoyland House and find out the 'way in' as such. I wanted this programme to look like they really helped me. But I don't want to go and do gardening/allotmentering.
I want her to do her work but that is not going to happen is it.
So what questions and everything should I be asking when I do get to ring Hoyland House and find out if there are any opportunities for them to support me in selling photo's in some way.
