help please

I hope there is a person out there who can help.  I live in North Suffolk, and apparently there is no where fro my GP  to refer to me for  my Apsergers/ Autism. I have written to the local clinical commisioning group in Waveney , but  after a month they ahve not replied > I a ma 60 year old  trying to  sort out the train wreck of my life. I  have manged to cope  up until now by moving. Scince I was 16 I have lived in 12 different countries,  36 different towns. I have been living  whereI do for  just over a year, but  really need to speak to someone before I  sink any further, without the coping mechanism of moving I am finding it increasingly difficult... if any one  knows of somewhere please let me know... many thanks

  •  hey Random, sorry it took me so long to reply. Moving.....  first off I have this deep nee d to be somewhere else,  the minute I am there, that need kicks in. Second I  find that after a little while in one place  people you meet expect you to care, in some way of another. And I do not.I have absolutely no empathy for people. Thus when the expectation  on me to care become greater I move.

     Kind regards

  • Hi Again,

Have just re-read your post and intrigued by your comment "coping mechanism of moving". Please could you expand on this coping mechanism you feel.

I used move frequently from place to place, until my current home which I have been here 18 years now. I have had the inclination to move again, the biggest being to New Zealand, where I expended a lot of effort and expense to get a residency visa, very difficult to get hold off.

I kind of realised that moving to another place, I am not going to leave all of my problems behind.

I am finding things more difficult as I get older too, will be 50 soon. My mental health has deteriorated since my diagnosis, and feel I really need some help soon.

  • Hi santona1937,

I don't think the following service covers your district, but maybe worth contacting them, and finding out if they know who provides same service in your district:

    www.nsft.nhs.uk/.../Autism-Diagnostic-Service-Suffolk-.aspx

I don't know if same is available in your GP practice, but ask for an appointment with "The Link Worker", hopefully you will get an appointment, and he/she will be able to help connect you with people who can help
