I struggle to fold clothes and sheets. Not for want of trying!! My dexterity is not great, never has been. I have spatial awareness difficulties. Well yesterday, at my voluntary work, the manager said ''did your mother never show you how to fold sheets!' People have said this to me before (funny how it is never father). Anyway, this is really insensitive and shows how little awareness there is of neurological difference. My mum has spent a long time showing me how to fold sheets, but society loves to blame the mother. Yes, mother blaming has never gone away. It makes me angry on her behalf as well as on mine. So how do I respond? I felt insulted and upset. I replied calmly (inside I was anything but calm), by saying that I am not very dexterous and am not good at folding clothes.
All you NT out there - stop judging, think before you speak.
