And dont like people
I get this a lot. In a social world you are meant to interact, exchange greetings, engage in social chit chat. I find it hard, my eye contact isn't good, and I'm socially clumsy, so I get accused of being stand-offish, reticent, ignoring people, defensive, anti-social, snobbish whatever -
Basically all this tells me I've got aspergers. I find social interchange difficult. Its a disability. How long does it take to educate the public what autism means?
It is laughable really, if it wasn't so sad for many. If you were deaf you'd get sympathy. If you just have trouble interfacing its a fault, even a social crime, not a disability.
I thought NAS was supposed to be educating people about autism. But a lot of the social angle isn't explained by the Triad of Impairments. The Triad is a diagnostic tool that excludes things that might be confused with other disabilities. So social interfacing only counts in terms of symptoms like being too literal!
Wake up NAS.
