hi. I'm about to turn 16.
i was just wondering if anyone here has had, or has any experiences with self-stimulatory behaviours (repetitive behaviours) I do it a lot and I don't really know how to stop it and all of the autistic people I have asked have never done it.
I never thought I had particular stims, but then I do love my rocking chairs and am a terrible nose picker, and constantly fidget. And I have a thing for soft paintbrushes that I like to stroke my face with.
Since childhood I have done this weird little thing where if I can't sleep I lie on my front and rock from side to side (really nothing sexual, it just loosens the spine!) One time I forgot where I was and did it when I had 'company' and the guy was most perplexed at my strange behaviour. I explained how relaxing it was, so he had a go. From then on he was a convert, and we would both be doing it
