Dealing (politely) with smelly colleague!

I work in a small office with colleagues I get on with, but one has started wearing some absolutely revolting perfume, which stinks out the whole office even with windows open. It smells like a cross between grandma's nastiest talcum powder and cat litter-tray deodorant.

Has anyone had any success broaching such issues without causing upset?

Ha ha RS I did think of smothering myself in patchouli oil (the only thing that would blot this out) or maybe hanging up one of those oranges stuffed with cloves that they used in the plague....
I think I'd better stay quiet on this though, unless someone else mentions it!

Nobody else may have mentioned it but you could perhaps ask if another colleague has noticed it and is being too polite to say anything.
Have you tried wearing your own perfume/deodorant to see if that blots out the other person's perfume?

Do your colleagues find the perfume equally horrible? If so, then 1 of them may have a word with the person wearing it. I would take outraged's advice, if possible.

I suggest you leave this to an NT collegue; I see no way of this ending well for you if you become involved.
