7 yr old regressing?

My daughter is 7 and has ASD, severe learning diffs and epilepsy (currently controlled).

Over the past month I have noticed her echolalia is constant, her tip toeing is all the time and we are getting lots of baby talk (goo goo ga ga). Constant questions about what we are doing tomorrow (even first thing in the morning), constant echolailic phrases.

Then yesterday she had a whopping tantrum - full on the floor, legs kicking style which we haven't had for a few years now I think.

Am trying to find out if autistic children can go thorugh regressive phases (have emailed our peadiatrician but no reply) and can't find much on google about older children regressing.....

Or perhaps it is her epilepsy?!

Any advice?

  • Thanks for yr reply. She is fine in herself otherwise. Asked at school today if she is doing it all there too and they said she tends to do the baby talk when wanting attention from particular staff members.

Again tonight though we have had another full on tantrum when simply asked to move her toys out of the doorway.

Will keep looking for ideas though!
